Araki's works were storyboard and episode direction from Gungrave, Black Lagoon and other few works from Madhouse. He is known for directing 3 works from Madhouse such as Death Note, Otogi-Jushi Akazukin and Highschool of the Dead and 2 works from Production I.G such as Guilty Crown and Attack on Titan (mainly by Wit Studio).

Araki is the director of the Spirit Brony High OVA series and its film series produced by Production I.G and Tatsunoko due to his involvement currently with Production I.G when it was originally Tatsunoko to be only producing the series with Bushiroad, Takara Tomy and Bandai Visual.

Araki, alongside Aaron Montalvo, Haruko Iizuka and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa defended Shingo Adachi for the sake of character designing due to the whole "moe being prohibited on Psycho-Pass" situation stated by general director Katsuyuki Motohiro as the haters of Sword Art Online claimed it that it's "moe" in terms of character design according to Montalvo.
