Gainax Company, Ltd (株式会社ガイナックス, Kabushiki-gaisha Gainakkusu, Formerly Daicon Film) is a Japanese anime and tokusatsu fanfilm studio founded in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan on December 24, 1984 (Christmas Eve) by members such as Shinji Higuchi, Hideaki Anno (before he left Gainax and founded Studio Khara), Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Yasuhiro Takeda, Hiroyuki Yamaga, and a few others.

Gainax's works were Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise, Gunbuster, Diebuster, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Nadia: The Secret of the Blue Water, Otaku no Video, This Ugly yet Beautiful World (with Shaft), Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (with Madhouse), Petite Princess Yucie (with AIC), FLCL (with Production I.G), Shikabane Hime: Corpse Princess (with feel.), Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Hanamaru Kindergarten, Re: Cutie Honey (with Toei Animation), Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Appleseed (not the 2004 film), the Anime Tencho Animate promo, Debutante Detective Corps (with Studio 4˚C and FAI), Blazing Transfer Student, Wish Upon the Plaides (collaborated with car company Subaru), Medaka Box/Medaka Box Abnormal, Stella Women’s Academy, High School Division Class C³ and the upcoming works, Blue Uru and Magica Wars. Also, they produce their first live-action television series, EA's Rock.

Gainax, alongside his former partners at Studio Trigger, will co-operate with Production I.G for Harmony Unleashed: AppleSpark Chronicles.
